Another common question related to Instagram privacy is whether people know if you share their Instagram Story. There are a few answers to that question, and it all depends on how you share. There are three different ways to share someone else's Instagram Story on your own Instagram Story or account.

One, you can share an IG Story in which you've been tagged directly to your own Story. Two, you can screenshot their Story and post it to yours as an uploaded image from your camera roll. If you do this, you should tag the original poster so they receive the credit for the post.

The other option is that you can share by directly sending it to someone else via Instagram Direct Message. There is no way to find out how many times a person has viewed your Instagram story. How do you hide your following list on Instagram? You may receive notifications about memories, birthdays, or other content, but when it comes to receiving notifications about who viewed your Story, expect your phone to stay silent. While you may not be able to receive notifications for who has viewed your story, you can still see who actually did view it. From the stories screen inside of Snapchat, find your story at the top of the page. Tap the triple-dotted vertical line icon on the far-right side of your display. These icons and numbers represent the people who have viewed your story in our example screenshot, forty-five people viewed the first snap, while forty-two people viewed the second.

Snapchat allows you to do that too.

This list is in reverse-chronological order, with the top of your list showing you who most-recently viewed your story and the bottom continue reading your list showing you who least-recently viewed your story.

Final Thoughts Even though Instagram removed the ability for people to tell when you screenshot their Stories, Instagram does notify users when you screenshot disappearing photos. They disappear once the recipient has viewed them. You can only set photos to disappear if you take them within direct messages by pressing the camera button. There are two ways that Instagram notifies someone that you have screenshotted their photo.

Neither is an actual notification; no one will receive a popup notification on their phone when you screenshot their Instagram post. These are simply little indicators that you have taken a screenshot.

The first is more subtle. The second way is less subtle, though there is a way to bypass it.
