Lets say you had in your account and you make a purchase of 75 on Amazon. We both know, that money will not be charged until despatch.
However, if you go to the cashpoint or your bank, they will tell you that you can only draw outas there is a pending authorisation of 75 against your account. If an authorisation is not acted upon within say 72 hours, it is cancelled.
When you request a disbursement from Amazon, they will contact your bank and make an authorisation against your account for a small amount of money under a fiver. If the bank says yes you can have this, they will process your disbursement.
