Visit Amazon. Click on the hamburger menu button from the top-left side and select Your Account. Click on the Manage membership link. A drop-down list will appear. Select Manage Membership. Hit the End membership option. Amazon will now show a screen to highlight how much you have saved in delivery fees since you have joined the membership.

Click Continue to Cancel there.

You will now see a screen showing the End on [expiry date of your Prime membership] button. This will essentially end your Prime membership once it reaches the renew date.

You can't recover any information once it's done. Bear in mind, this is a permanent process and once it's done you'll lose any data tied to your account along with access to everything Amazon-related.

If you change your mind in the future, you would need to sign up for a brand new Amazon account. To begin, download any data you have stored in your Amazon account, such as anything stored in Amazon Photos before proceeding. The easiest way to do that is to use the desktop app.

There, you'll be presented with a list of all the data and services linked to your account that will be deleted. Again, study it carefully to make sure there's nothing you need.
