What are Directional Tires? Tires with a "directional" tread contain specific design elements that function best when rolling in one direction.

For example, some Goodyear tires incorporate unidirectional sweeping traction grooves to enhance performance and traction. By channeling water and slush efficiently away from the tire in wet and winter conditions, these tires provide excellent hydroplaning resistance and confident control in challenging weather conditions.

On rocks and steep hill climbs, the Goodyear's wraparound tread design, with its myriad blocks and biting edges along the upper sidewall, came in handy when having to nerf off a large rock or two to traverse some very narrow even for a Jeep gulley notches.
