The Government of Uganda through Ministry of Health and the National Drug Authority in the last 5 years has continued to promote health services delivery in the country by ensuring:
- Quality drugs, safe distribution, storage and sale of drugs,
- Promoting good manufacturing practice by pharmaceutical industries locally and internationally
- Reducing the health risk of drugs used, proper advertising of drugs
- Fighting substandard and falsified drugs among the population.
In an effort to further strengthen the health of humans and animals; the Government of Uganda is constructing a 12 floor ultra-modern laboratory at National Drug Authority, on plot 93 Buganda road, expected to be completed by year 2022 to test the quality of both human and animals drugs, medical devices, cosmetics, chemicals and food for better healthy and productive population.
