LICENSING OF PHARMACIES AND DRUG SHOPS
National Drug Authority (NDA) was established under the National Drug Policy and Authority Act (CAP 206), Laws of Uganda (2000 Edition) with the mandate to promote the use of safe effi cacious and good quality drugs and to deal with the development and regulation of the pharmacies and drugs in Uganda.
National Drug Authority informs all operators of pharmacies and drug shops who have not applied for licenses for 2017 that they are operating illegally and are therefore liable to prosecution under the National Drug Policy and Authority Act.
Members of the public are encouraged to report to the National Drug Authority any concerns about quality of drugs or premises where drugs are sold.
